I'm a graphics and newly-html kind of guy. Carton is a hardcore gaming kind of guy who knows the ins and outs to fps strategy and precision, and the guy is better at whatever game he sets his mind to than anyone else I've known. This isn't saying he's any sort of "god" or anything, it's just that I've never actually been that great at games except a select few--and they're OLD!! LOL!
Since C64 days I've enjoyed modifying games to look different or play different. I distributed a number of modded games back in those days on a number of BBS's. I often wonder if I'll ever find some of them when looking for c64 files in abandonware.
I've always enjoyed making abstract art. I've always wanted to work with 3d to create abstract atmospheres but had always been intimidated by the sheer magnitude of the programs. To some degree, finding out how the terrains work in df2 reminded me of when I'd mod games back on the c64.
With an engine like DF2 with an infinitely looping terrain, the possibilities of making a 3d abstract art piece was great, and the concept of infinity that computer games are capable of offering is something that I wish more games would explore.
With DF Meox, I didn't want to make it just look pretty, I wanted to be able to incorporate different gameplay styles than what the game normally offers.
I wanted it to be something fully playable without even HAVING to add buildings with a map editor if you chose not to (depending of course on what kind of map/level type you are playing). I believe I have achieved that with DF Meox.
We both put the site together. He had the idea to do it in the first place--what info to put on the site, and many aspects to how it was set up, and I did the html and graphics, except the Delta Force logo with the triangle and the sword--I just modded that.
So just so you know, I do the graphics, Carton does the hardcore gaming.
For DF2 questions, how to install the latest updates for DF2, how to install dfmeox beyond the faq I supplied, HE is the one to ask.
I'm the one to ask about graphical elements of both the message board and the game itself.
